- Caters for students in the Otumoetai, Brookfield, Bellevue, Judea, Matua and Pillans Point areas of Tauranga, as well as Bethlehem, Te Puna, Whakamarama and Omokoroa.
Otumoetai College is a school where students are encouraged to do their best, regardless of their abilities, where proper conduct is expected, and where a broad range of student interest is accommodated.
- Co-educational, State School established 1965, Year 9 to Year 13.
- Our predicted roll for 2009 is 1800, with an additional 60 international fee-paying students enrolled. Otumoetai College is the managing school for three Alternative Education Providers and has an off-site Teen Parents Unit at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

- Since 2000, the College has had an $11 million upgrade of facilities in 80% of the school. these include new Science, Technology and Library facilities and upgraded Business, Computing, English, Mathematics and Social Studies areas.
- The Whare Wananga, Okohanga was officially opened February 2002 . This is complimented with a Whare Kai.
- Two large gymnasiums including squash courts, climbing wall, weight lifting and dance rooms.

- Construction has recently been completed on $500,000 Health & Wellness / International Student Centre.

The College has a reputation of excellence in Music, both vocal and instrumental, and is renowned for high quality Stage productions and Musical performance. In 2009 Otumoetai College will represent New Zealand at the International Pacific Basin Music Festival performing in Hololulu, USA.
The School offers an extensive range of sporting activities, last year making 42 codes available to students, and teams frequently featuring at top national level. The school competed in 23 national sporting competitions with success. There is an excellent Pastoral Care structure with an effective student support programme in operation and every effort is made to reduce the possible impersonal nature of such a large school. The College has many innovative learning programmes, which include, Transition to work, Gateway, a comprehensive outdoor education programme, Learning Centre for Excellence, a Literacy, Gifted and Talented programme including Advanced Learner classes.
